One good news tonight: the French Airport Lyon is reopening tonight Monday , just an hour drive from Geneva!
As you know, we will not reschedule the Geneva Conference as we do not have an "act of God's" clause and have engagements we cannot cancel.

GIJC 2010 in Geneva and the volcano alert
After all the work we have done for the conference, we are concerned that the European airline grounding may affect our conference in Geneva. We hope that flights will start before Tuesday 2Oth and alternative routes will be offered. We have decided to hold the conference as scheduled, whatever the situation.

It's a historical choice. The 2010 Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting has been awarded, with the Daily News, to the association ProPublica. This organisation, financed by charitable foundations, offers investigative reports to conventional media who were in the financial impossibility of carrying them out.

One of the most awarded investigative journalist, Seymour Hersh has accepted the invitation made by the GIJC 2010 to be a keynote speaker in Geneva.
Known as early as 1969 to be the journalist who broke the My Lai scandal in Vietnam, Seymour Hersh has more recently exposed the Abu Graib scandal. Hersh has published eight books, including, most recently, "Chain of Command" which was based on his reporting on Abu Ghraib for The New Yorker.
It is the first time that Seymour Hersh will speak at a GIJC and he will open the morning session on Friday the 23d april.

Guylaine Locquet is deputy editor and producer at the French production company Capa. She is well known to have produced "Les Infiltrés" ("The Infiltrated") a prime time television program for the public channel France 2. Another prestigious guest will be the mexican journalist Sergio Gonzalez Rodriguez. He is the author of two breathtaking books on the violence spreading in Mexico, the killing of women in Ciudad Juarez and the practice of beheading.
