Due to an indictment brought against him, Spanish judge Baltasar Garzón, has cancelled his scheduled appearance at the 2010 Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Geneva on Saturday.
Garzon stated that it was a difficult decision as he was convinced of the fundamental importance of investigative journalism in society, but his current situation did not allow him to speak at such a venue.
